Pointerra US Winter Conference Marathon 2026: Kicking Off the Year Across Key Industry Events

Pointerra’s US team kicked off the year with a whirlwind winter conference marathon — moving from state to state, event to event, without slowing down. Across transportation, utilities, and geospatial sectors, the team was on the ground continuously, connecting with industry leaders, showcasing innovation, and gaining firsthand insight into the challenges shaping the year ahead.

From major national conferences to targeted regional events, this roadshow was more than just a series of appearances — it was a sustained effort to engage deeply with the market, strengthen relationships, and demonstrate how Pointerra3D is helping organizations work smarter with reality data.

Here’s a look at where we’ve been and the conversations driving momentum into the year ahead.

NRC REMSA National Conference – January 7-10, 2026 (FL)

The year kicked off at the National Railroad Construction & Maintenance Association (NRC REMSA) Conference in Florida, where Eric Andelin, our VP of Strategic Market Development engaged with transportation leaders focused on reliability, resilience, and network performance. Conversations centered on how transportation agencies can better leverage reality capture data to improve inspection workflows and reduce operational risk. Pointerra3D’s ability to turn large-scale LiDAR and imagery datasets into actionable insights resonated strongly with attendees looking to modernize railroad management.

At the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Annual Meeting in Washington, Eric connected with transportation professionals tackling some of the industry’s biggest challenges — aging infrastructure, data fragmentation, and increasing demand for efficiency. Pointerra3D was positioned as a platform that enables DOTs to move beyond static datasets toward dynamic, data-driven decision-making through digital twins.

Our Chief Operating Officer, Greg Itzstein and other colleagues represented Pointerra at the Management Association for Private Photogrammetric Surveyors (MAPPS) Winter Conference in Arizona, engaging with surveying and geospatial leaders. Discussions focused on the need to simplify increasingly complex workflows and reduce reliance on fragmented desktop tools. Pointerra3D’s cloud-native approach demonstrated how firms can process, manage, and deliver 3D data more efficiently while improving collaboration across project stakeholders.

DistribuTECH in San Diego, California brought together the wider international Pointerra team, creating a strong presence at one of the utility sector’s most influential events. The focus was on helping utilities transition from data collection to data readiness — enabling faster insights, improved vegetation management, and more efficient asset inspections. The scale of engagement reinforced the growing demand for unified platforms that can support enterprise-wide digital transformation. The team also introduced Pointerra’s new VP of Utilities, Darin David, strengthening our presence and asserting our expertise in the utilities sector.

Geo Week 2026 – February 16-18, 2026 (CO)

Geo Week 2026 marked a major milestone for Pointerra, with a bigger and more impactful presence than ever before. It was the perfect forum to launch our Digital Surveyor Bundle to the geospatial market which was also voted the #1 Game Changer by the Geo Week News audience, highlighting its value in simplifying geospatial workflows. In addition to our 20 square foot booth, Greg Itzstein presented in the panel session 'Digital Twins and 3D Modeling for Infrastructure and Urban Environments' to a captive audience eager to learn more about AI-powered vegetation risk modeling protecting energy grids from climate events, showcasing how organizations can move from static datasets to living, operational models. The event reinforced Pointerra’s leadership in cloud-based 3D data management and analytics.

North Carolina Surveyors Conference – February 19-21, 2026 (NC)

Our Director of Customer Solutions, Daniel Perr represented Pointerra at the North Carolina Surveyors Conference, engaging directly with surveying professionals focused on delivering high-quality data under tight timelines. Conversations highlighted the importance of faster processing, easier data sharing, and reducing rework — all areas where Pointerra3D provides immediate value.

SLSPS Conference – February 27-28, 2026 (SC)

At the South Carolina Society of Professional Land Surveyors (SLSPS) Conference, our VP of Delivery, Patrick Mills represented Pointerra. The focus was on modernizing traditional surveying workflows. Pointerra3D demonstrated how surveyors can move beyond file-based data delivery to more dynamic, interactive outputs that improve client engagement and project efficiency.

TAPS – March 5-7, 2026 (TN)

At the Tennessee Association of Professional Surveyors (TAPS) event in Murfreesboro, Brian Mayfield engaged with local surveying professionals in his home state of Tennessee. Discussions focused on delivering accurate, high-quality data while improving efficiency in the field and office. Conversations highlighted the ongoing shift away from traditional, file-based workflows toward more streamlined, cloud-enabled approaches. Pointerra3D demonstrated how surveyors can simplify data processing, reduce rework, and deliver more value to clients through faster, more accessible insights.

NRECA TechAdvantage – March 9-11, 2026 (TN)

Also in Brian’s home state of Tennessee, the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) TechAdvantage event in Nashville was a great opportunity to connect with utility stakeholders.

Brian and Darin enjoyed insightful conversations focused on the challenges of managing distributed assets and increasing data volumes across rural networks. Pointerra3D showcased how utilities can centralize LiDAR and imagery data, enabling more efficient inspections, vegetation management, and reporting — all within a secure, browser-based environment accessible to teams in the field and office alike.

AASHTO GIS-T – March 16-19, 2026 (IL)

At the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) GIS-T conference in Chicago, Eric continued discussions with DOT leaders focused on national transportation priorities. A key part of the conversation was showcasing what’s already possible today, drawing on real-world outcomes from the Main Roads Western Australia (MRWA) Network LiDAR Project.

By highlighting how MRWA has implemented large-scale lidar capture and digital twin workflows across its network, Eric demonstrated how centralized, cloud-based data environments can support better planning, maintenance, and investment decisions. For many attendees, it provided a tangible example of how digital twins can move beyond concept and deliver measurable impact across transportation networks.

Western Regional Surveyors Conference – March 18-21, 2026 (NV)

The winter roadshow wrapped up at the Western Regional Surveyors Conference in Las Vegas, where Daniel and Greg represented Pointerra, engaging with professionals looking to stay competitive in an evolving surveying industry. The key takeaway: firms that can deliver faster insights, improve collaboration, and reduce operational friction will lead the next generation of surveying services — and Pointerra3D is helping make that possible.

Looking Ahead in 2026 with More Events to Come

From national conferences to regional engagements, the start of the year has reinforced a clear industry direction: organizations are moving toward unified, cloud-based platforms that simplify workflows and unlock the full value of reality data.

After a relentless winter conference marathon, this is a short breather for the team — but not for long. Momentum will quickly build again as we head into spring and summer, with upcoming events including ITS America in Detroit (June 9–12), Energy Drone & Robotics Summit in Houston TX (June 22-24), MAPPS in New York (July 27–29), and Trees & Utilities (September 22–24).

Pointerra is proud to be part of this journey — partnering with customers across the US to turn data into decisions, and decisions into impact — and we look forward to continuing the conversation at the next stop on the road.
