WAME 2025: Pointerra Demonstrates the Power of Digital Twins in Modern Mining

The WA Mining Conference & Exhibition 2025 brought together industry leaders, innovators, and technology partners in Perth last week to explore all things mining in the region with a focus on how digital transformation is reshaping the mining sector.
We were proud to be part of the event once again, engaging with mining professionals and demonstrating how Pointerra3D digital twins and analytics are enhancing safety, streamlining ESG compliance, and driving operational efficiency across the resources industry.
From Booth E131, our team — including VP of Business Development Matthew James and Chief Revenue Officer, David Lowe — met with mining operators eager to unlock the value of their geospatial data. Across two busy days, conversations focused on how a Common Data Environment (CDE) can break down silos, improve information sharing, and strengthen collaboration across departments and knowledge owners.

Matthew James Joins the Panel of Experts
On the opening day, Matthew James joined the Transforming Mining through Technology panel on the main stage, contributing to a lively discussion about how technology is reshaping mining operations. A recurring theme from the panel was the challenge of data fragmentation — with valuable information often trapped in disconnected systems or owned by disconnected teams.
Matthew spoke about how this issue can only be solved through a Common Data Environment, where all stakeholders — from geotechnical engineers to surveyors and operations teams — can access, visualise, and analyse data in one trusted location. He emphasised that creating a single source of truth not only improves decision-making but also builds confidence across the organisation by ensuring everyone is working from the same, up-to-date information.
The conversation also turned to platform fatigue, with panellists acknowledging how the growing number of digital tools can make workflows disjointed. Pointerra3D’s frictionless integration addresses this, enabling teams to connect their existing systems and applications into one seamless environment — removing barriers to adoption and allowing technology to serve as an enabler rather than a burden.

As WA’s premier mining event, WA Mining 2025 once again highlighted the industry’s appetite for smarter, connected, and data-driven operations. Pointerra3D is proud to be part of that journey — helping the mining sector work safer, smarter, and more efficiently.
If you didn’t get a chance to visit us at WAME 2025, we’d love to continue the conversation—get in touch to learn how we’re helping mining operations implement living digital twins at scale and extract more value from their geospatial data across the mining lifecycle.
